Shows & projects

Keep Moving. Its the name of the game. In my opinion art is the act of making it and sharing it. How the world sees it is out of your control but if you have the desire/courage to show it - for me that is art.

Here are some of my shows and life interests, all involving art. I have met the most amazing and talented people along the way.

Young Black Woman / Old White Man

Different parts of the country, different ages, different races. Same love of art. This show was the most fun I have ever had as an artist. Devyn and I had met virtually when I saw some of her work posted up on social media. I thought it was straight fire. We were both making art about our views of current events and decided to put them together for a show. It was three years before we actually met in person. We are friends for life now. The power of art.

When I Ruled The World

A really important event for me. At the age of 58, it was my first real show. I depicted my life throughout 6 large panels dealing with everything from youth and total freedom to the despair that can come with parts of life and ultimately a renewal that can happen when you change things up for the better.

Malaysian Mural Program

For 6 years I have been visiting Sekola Semengat Maju in Taiping Malaysia. A school for special needs, this place is all the way across the world - and everything about it is beautiful. I discovered it on a volunteer trip with my daughter. The last day we were there I painted a tiny mural and the kids seemed to love it. I have been going back ever since painting various murals and fundraising for them. This is a special place and definetly one of my favorite adventures in life.

South Shore Art Center - AIR

For the last few years I have been actively teaching outreach programs with teens and elementary school children. We are exploring a range of topics but this year we are talking about "Visual Storytelling". Children are the true "pure" artists imo and i love to see what they do when asked to "tell me a story".
